Role Overview

Financial Controller | Warsaw, PL | Office-based 4 days/week | 14,000 - 18,000 zł

We are looking for a Senior Accountant to join our Finance team based in Poland to support the accounting operations of all 23 entities across the Fresha Group globally. Reporting directly to the VP of Finance Operations, you'll manage accounting for entities in Poland, Ireland, France, and Spain, collaborate closely with teams across multiple countries and functions, gain strong international exposure and playing a key role in improving and shaping our finance processes. What You'll Do

Own global accounting: Manage accounting processes for assigned entities (Poland, Ireland, France, and Spain), ensuring accuracy and compliance with local regulations and group policies.
Accounts payable and invoice management: Review and approve cost invoices.
Support month-end and year-end closing activities, including preparation and review of financial data.
Review P&L accounts to identify missing invoices, accruals, prepayments, and other discrepancies
Reconcile balance sheet accounts (e.g. cash, prepayments, accruals, payroll-related accounts).
Polish tax and statutory accounting: Prepare and review VAT and CIT returns, as well as financial statements for the Polish entity.
International tax and reporting: Coordinate with external accounting firms on CIT returns and financial statements for entities in Ireland, France and Spain.
Audit and compliance: Prepare audit documentation and coordinate with external auditors during statutory and group audits.
Reporting and analysis: Prepare ad hoc reports, analyses, and financial documentation.
Process improvement: Identify opportunities to improve and automate accounting processes, with a strong focus on AI tools.
Review financial data with a critical mindset, focusing on accuracy, consistency, and alignment with business context and budgets.

What We're Looking For

Accounting Experience: Minimum 4 years of professional experience in accounting, including experience in an independent role.
Polish accounting and tax: Strong knowledge of Polish GAAP, VAT, and CIT regulations.
Finance education: Degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field (or equivalent financial education) with a strong understanding of accounting principles, standards, and financial reporting.
International experience: Experience working in a multi-entity and/or international environment.
Language skills: Fluency in Polish and very good knowledge of English.
Data and systems-driven: Very good knowledge of Excel with a strong focus on process improvement and automation.
Organisation and ownership: Good organisational skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.

Added Bonus

Experience with Sage Intacct (Group accounting software).
Knowledge of Comarch ERP Optima (accounting software for Polish entity).
Basic understanding of transfer pricing principles.
Experience with accounting for entities in Ireland, Spain, or France.
