Reporting directly to the Head of Engineering, and collaborating closely with the Product Manager and Staff Engineer, you will be accountable for the technical vision, strategy, planning and coordination of engineering projects at Fresha while proactively managing technical risks.
Team Lead is accountable for the team performance (e.g. ensuring processes are followed, estimates are reliable, communication is proactive, the code is well-architected) and a line manager for their team members.
This position offers an excellent opportunity for someone who thrives in a fast-paced and changing environment, enjoys working autonomously, relishes challenges, and seeks to make a significant impact.
To foster a collaborative environment that thrives on face-to-face interactions and teamwork, all Fresha employees work from our office four days per week, with the flexibility to work remotely on Wednesdays. Warsaw office: 20th Floor, Aleje Jerozolimskie 81, 02-001 Warsaw, Poland
Team Management and Support
Set ambitious yet achievable goals for the engineering team, maintaining high-tech standards and objectives.
Ensure the team has a clear understanding of their responsibilities and expectations.
Mentor and provide technical guidance, drawing from your deep system design and coding expertise.
Facilitate continuous learning and improvement for your team.
Make sure your team follows our engineering practices by leading from the front.
Recognising and making trade-offs with respect to the whole system.
Priorities and Process
Collaborate with team members to identify and address process inefficiencies by leveraging your experience in making architectural and design decisions.
Ensure the timely delivery of your team’s projects, which will ultimately have a tangible impact on Fresha’s success.
Actively contributing code, fixing bugs, and resolving issues to help drive the team's progress
You understand deeply the entire architecture for a major part of the business and you’re able to articulate clearly the scaling and reliability limits of that area.
Added bonus
Assist in interviewing, hiring, and training employees, ensuring they meet the engineering quality standards you uphold.
Track and analyse performance metrics for the team and your functional area.
Support the Head of Engineering in executing ad-hoc projects, drawing from your experience in anticipating technical issues and making strategic technology decisions.
This list is not exhaustive and there may be other activities you are required to deliver.
To foster a collaborative environment that thrives on face-to-face interactions and teamwork, all Fresha employees work from the office four days per week, with the flexibility to work remotely one day each week.
What we are looking for
This is a highly technical and hands-on role
Proven experience in system design, coding, and architecture, with a track record of successfully delivering large systems in multiple languages
Skilled in identifying and addressing process inefficiencies, leveraging technical expertise to drive improvements.
You’ve had to quickly break down complex problems into potential solutions, knowns and unknowns in order to get a solid resolution faster
You have created an architecture that enables many potential futures without knowing what the future is
Lead by example (ownership, quality, proactiveness, continuous improvement, product focus, get shit done, culture of open feedback)
At Fresha, we value passion and potential as much as specific skills. If you're enthusiastic and eager to learn, we encourage you to apply, even if you don't meet every listed requirement. We believe in fostering growth and providing the support needed for you to excel in your role.
